You can vote by mail if you are:
- at least 65 years of age; or,
- you are sick or disabled; or,
- confined in jail, but eligible to vote, or,
- you will be out of Harris County for any reason during the Early Vote period andElection Day.
You must fill out an Application for Ballot by Mail and send the Application to the Harris County Clerk.
Your application must be received by the early voting clerk not earlier than the 60th day and not later than the 9th day before election day.
Once the application is received, you will be mailed a Ballot.
Click here to download an application for a request to vote by mail. Once you receive and mark your ballot, you must mail it so that it is received by 7:00 pm on Election Day. If you apply to vote by mail, and then decide to vote in person instead, you must cancel your request in writing or bring your unmarked ballot with you to the polls for cancellation. There are special instructions for voters who are serving in the armed forces or who are living outside the United States.
