MARY ANNE FRIEDRICH

advisory board member

She’s been a long-time member of Roadwomen since 2001 and a dedicated Democrat. Working in the ROADwomen’s Ladies’ Room at the 2012 Texas State Democratic Convention, however, was a life-changing experience.  It showed her the possibilities of making a difference.  In 2013 she had the privilege of testifying with her daughter before the Texas Senate in opposition to the oppressive abortion legislation being considered.  The support they received from the whole country was amazing.

When she retired in 2016, she had more time for volunteering.  she started phone banking with Roadwomen in 2017 and continued in every election after that.  She helped with Lizzie Fletcher’s successful campaign for US House District 7 and worked on Ann Johnson’s amazingly successful campaign for Texas House District 134.  She was inspired to become a precinct chair and is currently a member of the Senate District 17 Vacancy Committee and has helped to fill many precinct chair vacancies.

Mary Anne has witnessed many successes for Democrats in Harris County and around Texas in the last few years and looks forward to the day when Democrats are elected to statewide offices.  Texas is closer and closer to being a purple state with each subsequent election!
