Our Successes

Though Democrats lost the general election badly in 2016, Harris County was a beacon in the darkness of the Republican landslide.  Hillary Clinton won Harris County by 160,000 votes, the largest Democratic victory since Texas turned red.

ROADwomen is proud of the part we played in turning all of Harris County blue.  Working on coordinated campaign with other Democratic groups, we targeted suburban Democratic women which was a crucial piece of turning Harris County blue.

Additionally, ROADwomen raised funds to participate in the seniors mail ballot program, which was aimed to increase voter participation among senior citizens. And for the first time in in Harris County history, Democrats outvoted Republicans in the senior mail ballot program.

FOR THE 2ND TIME, WE’RE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE ARE READY TO GO! Click here  to donate to the Sisters United 2018 Alliance. Sisters United was formed in 2016 in part by the hard work and dedication of Diane Mosier. The goal is to find, reach, and promote Democratic, Progressive and Liberal women to vote. We are at it again in 2018.     Women in Harris County make up 52% of all registered voters. Liberal, Progressive and Democratic registered women voters are 60% of that number. Historically these women have not voted in significant numbers. In 2016, Sisters United brought nearly 30,000 votes from the women targeted by the program. We can do better in 2018 with women reaching out to other women with the message that our votes count!
