Rufi Natarajan

President, Board Member

Rufi Natarajan is the sitting president and a previous board member of ROADWomen. She is originally from Karachi Pakistan and migrated to the states in 1972, where she pursued her education at the University of Missouri in Columbia where she received her Master's Degree in South Asian history. In Houston, Rufi joined a family owned real estate investment company where she has operated as a licensed  real estate broker since 1982.

She has been on the board of Planned Parenthood, American Association of University Women, Friends of Women’s Studies and several small NGOs.  Currently, she is on the Advisory Board for Refugee Services of Texas and an active member of the National Organization of Women’s Houston chapter.  In addition to her professional career, Rufi provides cultural orientation to refugees arriving in Houston and  trains volunteers for NOW on how to escort clients at an abortion clinic.

Rufi is passionate about equal pay for equal work and a woman’s right to choice. As the incoming President for ROADWomen, she hopes to grow the membership by attracting young leaders from diverse backgrounds,  help elect progressive Democrats and work on turning all of Texas blue!
