Gayle Fallon

advisory Board Member

Originally a Philly native, Gayle Fallon is the retired former President of the Houston Federation of Teachers, where she served for 34 years. As president of the union, she was involved with numerous political and community groups throughout the HISD community. After receiving her Bachelor’s in Political Science and her Masters in Education from Sam Houston State University, Gayle worked as a Vietnamese Crypto-linguist for NSA before moving to Texas where she taught public school for 12 years.

She currently sits on the board of the American Leadership Forum, Houston Folk-Music Society, and the Homeowners Association at River Oaks Square Condos. She is also on the advisory boards of CSTEM, Reasoning Minds and the Gulf Coast Trade Center.  Additionally, she serves as a delegate to the Harris County AFL-CIO.

Gayle is passionate about education, juvenile justice, and human trafficking since she spent most of her career dealing with issues related to public education and children. Her goals as a board member involve ROADwomen activating women to take a proactive role in political issues impacting women and their families with an emphasis on education.  “We have to defeat the efforts in the Texas legislature to underfund and privatize much of public education. The future of this country depend on preserving a quality public education system.”
